About you

Do you spend most of your time thinking about food, your weight or your body shape?

Are you currently on a diet and struggling due to the rules around what you can and can’t eat?

Does eating something that you think you shouldn’t make you feel guilty or ashamed?

Do you ever feel out of control around food, like you can’t stop eating even though you’re not hungry?

Perhaps you’re having trouble sorting through the conflicting opinions about the right way to eat to manage your health

(spoiler alert: there isn’t one!)

If this sounds like you and you’re ready for a change you’ve come to the right place.

Reconnect Nutrition is a safe-haven from the all diet noise, from the opinions about what you should be eating and the judgments about your weight and your body.

After all, it’s your body – you get to make the rules.

I’m here to guide you, to help you rebuild trust that you’re the expert on feeding yourself.

About me

My name is Tom (he/him). I’m a dietitian and nutritionist living in Geelong, Australia.

I started Reconnect Nutrition to help you feel more comfortable around food and manage your health concerns in a way that promotes enjoyable eating.

No restriction or rules, just helping you to reconnect with what works best for you.

I recognise that your gender, sexuality, sex, race, body shape/size can affect all aspects of your health and well-being, your relationship with food and your body, and your experiences with healthcare professionals.

Because of this I am committed to providing a space for all people to discuss their health concerns in a way that acknowledges and affirms their individuality.

Working with a dietitian

I’m not your typical dietitian. I offer a weight-inclusive approach to health guided by the principles of Health At Every Size (HAES®). What does that mean? I recognise that:

  • maintaining weight loss is difficult and a lot of people struggle to change their weight long-term through no fault of their own
  • health is a lot more complex than your weight, BMI, or waist circumference
  • the behaviours you engage in on a day to day basis have more of an impact on your health than your weight
  • there are steps that you can take in the body that you have right now to improve your health

If you’d like to know more about what that might look like you can read more about it here.
